In a workbook, a fraction is abstract: a line, two numbers and lots of frustration. On the board, a fraction is a piece you can hold. Your child puts two 1/4 strips next to a 1/2 strip and sees they are the same length. Nothing has to be taken on trust – they check it themselves. After a few days they start making up their own tasks.

The magnets are firmly built into the pieces. The set is not suitable for children under 3 – younger siblings should only play with it under supervision.
